Half-day masterclasses
During the growing season we run a topical masterclass on a number of topics. Each masterclass consists of both some theory and practical experience.
During 2026 we are offering:
No-dig masterclass (Saturday, 28th March)
Soil biology masterclass (Saturday, 25th April)
Propagation masterclass (Saturday, 9th May)
Bed maintenance for health crops masterclass (Saturday, 20th June)
Bioversity & ecosystem masterclass (Saturday, 18th July)
Cooking masterclass (Saturday, 5th September)
Cover crop masterclass (Saturday, 19th September)
Food preservation masterclass (Saturday, 10th October)
Crop planning masterclass (Saturday, 28th November)
All masterclasses take place on Saturday mornings, last for about threee hours and are located at the Zerodig site on Oakbrook Farm just outside Stroud.
Foundation course in agro-ecological market gardening
Join us every Saturday for about three hours from the beginning of March to mid-December for a whole season of theoretical and hands-on learning. At the end of this course you will have experienced a whole season of growing and have gained the knowledge needed to be a successful Zerodig grower.
The topics covered include: How to build, understand and nurture a living soil, how to build living soil beds, the dos and don’ts for successful propagation and planting out, the importance of observation and timely maintenance interventions, the dos and don’t of watering for healthy crops, pest and disease control, harvesting and preparing produce for sale, delicious recipes from your produce and how to preserve your produce over winter. Most importantly, and at the end of the course, haw to plan your cropping for the following year.
